What Features Should a Modern Commercial CCTV System Have?
If you own a business in Galway or anywhere in Ireland, you will have some kind of CCTV system in place. It could be that the CCTV system at your premises has been there for quite some time. And while it may essentially perform the function of capturing images of any activity around your property throughout the day, chances are that it does not have all the features that a modern commercial CCTV system should have. At ProSecurity, we have provided CCTV installation for businesses over a number of years, making sure commercial outlets in Galway - restaurants, bars, filling stations, offices, etc. - are equipped with the best possible CCTV system available on the market. Most business owners are not aware of the features that are now available to them, such is the speed with which security camera development evolves, so in this blog post, we will walk through a few features that commercial properties should have when it comes to CCTV.

Filter Between Human and Non-Human Activity
Too often, the effectiveness of CCTV can be hampered by continual false alarms. It means we are less likely to take a threat seriously if it does show up, along with unnecessarily wasting your time as a busy business owner. Our latest CCTV technology addresses this problem by using a recorder that can filter between human and non-human activity (an animal, or a ball being kicked, for example). This means you are only alerted when there is a genuine human presence near your commercial premises.
Night-Time Colour Vision
Most crimes occur at night, especially burglaries, yet the quality of CCTV cameras is often too poor to ensure proper identification and subsequent prosecution. Making sure you can always see what happens around your commercial property is a must. The digital IP camera that we use employs Optical Path Correction (OPC) technology to deliver brighter, clearer images and full colour vision at any time of day, meaning criminals can always be identified in the dark.
Audio Intervention
Our CCTV cameras in Galway are linked to our Irish monitoring centre on a 24/7 basis, sending over any activity as soon as it’s picked up. We can then issue a live audio warning in real time, instructing the intruder to leave. Cameras will continue to pick up any human movements whilst also issuing live warnings, making it much more likely that the intruder leaves and doesn’t enter your commercial property or damage any assets.
These are just some of the modern features that CCTV cameras should have. If you would like to know more about the different tools offered by ProSecurity’s CCTV installation, please do give us a call and we’d be happy to answer any questions.
